Meet the coaches

Ramsay is a seasoned competitor in numerous world Dragon Boat Championships and he is passionate about the sport.  As a coach, he exudes patience and skill, finding great joy in unlocking and nuturing each individuals potential.  His enthusiasm and expertise make him an exceptional mentor.

Jackie is a natural-born teacher. She loves to be on the back of a dragonboat teaching the sport that excites her.  Her meticulous attention to detail and exceptional communication skills keep her teammates informed and motivated, making her a fantastic leader.

Spencer has been an avid dragon boat coach for more than 15 years. His dragon boat journey started with the McMaster dragon boat team in 2009, and since then he's been able to coach and compete with many local recreational teams. He enjoys coaching paddlers of all ages and skill levels, and love the rush of racing across the finish line!

 Ann has been involved with the Dragon Boat Community for over 20 years.  First as a paddler, then as a coach and steers person. She is a member of the Coaches Association of Ontario , the National Coaching Certificate Program, and Dragon Boat Canada.
Ann continues to coach and/or steer for numerous teams of varying abilities on the local and international level.   She was thrilled to be part of the World Master Games in New Zealand and various other competitions throughout North America. Ann also coached for several years at a week long dragon boat camp in North Carolina

John has been involved in Dragon boating Since 1998. 

The sport has brought him into the States and all across Ontario.

He is a proficient coach and loves bringing a community team together.  It is a wonderful process!

Kim started paddling with Lively Dragon in 2013.  She fell in love with the sport the first time she put her paddle in the water.  She learned to race and eventually tried competitive paddling.  She competed in two Club Crew championships in Hungary and Florida.  In 2023 she competed for Canada on the inaugural para dragon crew at the world championships.  Kim has volunteered with the special needs program in Welland for the past three years.  She is now pleased to bring this opportunity to Hamilton.  Kim is the coach for the new team at Lively.--The Special Needs team.

Ramsay is the founder of Lively Dragon.  He built dragonboats and created the friendly group in Hamilton

Ramsay and Jackie have been together for over 20 years. They are best friends and life partners.

 They love hiking, biking, paint nights and lots of other activities.  

Their big passion is Dragonboating!
